The Happy, Vibrant Art of Romero Britto

Updated: Apr 20, 2022

Yesterday was the final class of this six week session at Imagine Academy. It sure flew by during this Springtime season.

To send off my students with a smile, I decided we should try out some "happy art" in the style of Romero Britto. He is an artist that uses bright colors and quirky patterns to create beautiful art that automatically puts a smile on your face.

We let our creativity go crazy and played a "card game" with some fun patterns. I drew some patterns on card sized paper and let them choose from my hand which pattern they would use. They had fun with that idea and we were all laughing and having a great time!

My students were so creative and chose some unique subjects for their projects. Cactus, the sun with a sailboat, free collage and my cute little kinder made a monkey swinging on vines. Ha!

I have really enjoyed teaching at Imagine Academy on Tuesday afternoons and will truly miss seeing the kids each week. I am already looking forward to teaching for a week in June during the Jump Into Art Summer Program at Imagine called Art at Your Fingertips. 😁

I better get busy and come up with more fun and creative art lessons! June will be here before we know it.
